our journey to organic farming...
As third generation farmers, it is in our blood to grow good food and share it with all the people around us, near and far.
We believe organic farming stems from the grass roots approach to providing for and nourishing ourselves. In turn undertaking ethical and responsible practices in food production.
Overtime, food producers have moved away from these true practices (now termed 'organic') as food production evolved to a means to make a living, this in most cases came together with, a sense of need to use harsh inputs to genetically modify and create multiple clones of unhealthy, perfectly shaped and brightly coloured fruit and vegetables.
The true reason for growing and consuming fresh produce is to absorb the goodness that it provides in it's most natural state, the vitamins and nutrients which are derived from it's being. It is vital to capture this goodness and share it with the world.
As a result, we endeavoured down the path of organic certification in 2011, this involved a three phase process of; pre-certification, in-conversion and finally Organic Certification, in early August 2015. It has been a journey of realisation and education, enabling us to look back to our early years and an appreciation of the heart and soul of farming; sharing this passion with the nation of producing good quality food.
Increasingly, the demand for organic is spreading throughout Australia and the world, as the consumer grows their concerns for environment and health. Consumption of organic fresh produce enables them to feel positive for supporting something of real value, this brings increased education in this arena of the benefits and allows more and more food producers to see the importance of producing food through these processes.
We believe in the longevity of organic practices and the vital importance of educating the consumer and society that organic farming, is not different, yet the mainstream way to produce real food.
